About Chris Nelson

Chris Nelson has spent more than 25 years helping executives at well-known, multinational companies protect their assets and demonstrate leadership while facing some of their toughest public challenges.

He has worked predominantly with Fortune 500 clients to navigate hundreds of high-profile crisis situations. They’ve included product contaminations, chemical spills, workplace violence, crises of investor confidence, corporate espionage, regulatory inquiries, and more. He has also helped clients deal with activist criticism by identifying ways to enhance their operations, finding win-win solutions, or fighting unfair public attacks.

Mr. Nelson currently serves a range of top-tier clients through his consulting firm, Cooper Point. During his career, he has led international teams at several global consulting firms, including Ketchum and Burson-Marsteller, where he got his start. Most recently, he headed the Americas crisis team at FleishmanHillard.

Mr. Nelson also teaches crisis management to graduate students at Columbia University. He has guest-lectured at several other universities and prestigious business schools, and he has authored a number of articles on crisis management. He often speaks at industry conferences on topics ranging from crisis management to risk management to litigation communications.
